The Legends Set

Welcome your guests into your home with a legendary meal before the meal. This is so-named because the people who contributed to this gift box are true legends in their industries (this is much more than a Cheese and Wine box!)

Wine
First, we have a new Red Wine - the best red I have ever tasted. I met winemaker Matt Morris accidentally at a dinner at Pia Baroncini‘s house. He brought with him the most remarkable Red Wine, cultivated with the legendary vintner Françoise Peschon (2019 Winemaker of the Year). It was made from endangered Charbono grapes, which only exist today in a few acres of North America. After one-ish glasses, I asked him if he would consider making a limited run of his Wine for our Holiday gift sets. I promise you, it is the best glass you will have this year.

Cheese
We paired this with two of the most remarkable cheeses from Stepladder Ranch and crackers from Oat Bakery. The iconic Stepladder Ranch was founded in 1871 and has been family-owned and operated for three generations. They make small-batch, award-winning cheese on their beautiful farm on California’s Central Coast. You may have to fight your in-laws for this cheese. I recommend locking yourself in your bedroom and eating it all. Otherwise a brawl will ensue. And nobody wants to raise their voice during the Holidays. We included their famed Paso Vino (Spanish-style Cow's Milk Cheese) and Ragged Point (Bloomy Rind Triple Crème).

Oat Bakery Superseed Crackers
Oat Bakery in Santa Barbara has garnered a cult following, especially this year. They bake bread using whole grains, local produce from the farmers market, and superfoods like Oats, Chia Seeds, and Flax Seeds. Their bread is all organic and handmade in small batches, and we have had the luxury of working with them all year as our bread provider for our Friday Farm Box Deliveries. For this special Holiday box, they are making Superseed Crackers.

June Taylor Preserves
Do you know who June Taylor is? She’s the undisputed best Preserve maker in America today. Nobody else holds this crown. The LA Times described her Preserves as “complex and layered, like a Philip Glass piece, a Gabriel García Márquez novel, or a long phone conversation with your mother.” IT IS UNTHINKABLE that she would collaborate with us — but dreams do come true. She has created a Flamingo Estate Elephant Heart Plum Conserve with notes of Citrus laced with Mediterranean Bay Leaf. She also summoned a Pear Butter from the smooth texture of Bartlett Pears— a varietal that remains unsurpassed in flavor. With a savvy twist of citrus and a dash of cinnamon. The set will contain one of these beautiful flavors - both pair beautifully with the contents. 

Wildflower Honey
This sweet, decadent Wildflower Honey is the result of the entire ecosystem at play. Our Winter harvest has given us 1000 jars of this antioxidant-rich, highly special elixir — containing all the powerful plant compounds. Bees forage on wild Sage, Rosemary, Lavender, Australian Wattle, and Eucalyptus, giving this Honey a unique fragrance and a deep, buttery, deliciously nuanced taste. It’s 100% raw & unfiltered.
