As we continue to build our farm network, we strive to collaborate with farms prioritizing growing practices focused on rehabilitation, conservation of native species, and transparency — Regenerative, Biodynamic, and beyond Organic principles that improve soil and water health and promote biodiversity. Each Farm Box purchase directly supports this network of farmers, earth-tenders, and producers. Flamingo Estate horticulturist Jeff Hutchison and Catherine Welch, of Windrose Farm, have teamed up to source the best ingredients from a diverse group of small, family-run farms to help nurture a network of thoughtful growers who help heal the planet with every harvest.
September’s Box Curator: Chef Evan Funke
Funke is a native Angeleno, two-time James Beard-nominated chef, and master of the old world techniques of handmade pasta. His globally-known restaurants — among them Motherwolf, Felix, and Funke — have been included in Michelin guides and recognized as the best restaurants in America. Which makes sense, considering he’s known as one of the best pasta makers in our country (as seen on his Chef’s Table episode). He’s coming to us this month to marry California seasonality with Italian tradition, and every week you will find delicious treats and recipes straight from his kitchen and his favorite regenerative farms.
The Farmer’s Market and our favorite chefs come together to let you cook a meal for someone you love. This Regenerative Farm Box is a chance for us to support the best farmers in California, while delivering the most delicious, nutrient-rich, and nourishing food to our LA community. Every month, a different chef will curate our box, create recipes, and offer delicious treats from their kitchen to yours. You will also find a rotating curation of seasonal fruits, vegetables, eggs, and weekly surprises such as fresh baked breads, spices, and Flamingo Estate products.
