Just down the street, a local legend knows how to pull all the right strings. Tomato Showgirl is a saucy little star — the veggie queen of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, a beloved cultural hub in our neighborhood and the largest and longest running marionette theater in the US.

Bob Baker Marionette Theater is the country's most iconic nonprofit puppet theater and a Los Angeles Cultural-Historical Monument that has served its community with creativity, joy, and imagination since 1963. Their mission is to preserve, educate, and innovate at the intersection of puppetry and the allied arts — reaching an intergenerational audience of over 145,000 people annually through cultural, educational, and immersive live performances.

To Los Angeles, this theater is a stamp of hope: for craftsmanship, for doing things the slow way, and for future generations to enjoy the timeless power of a live performance.

In honor of Tomato Showgirl and the whole Veggie Revue, we've created a Mini Tomato Set — and the proceeds go directly to the Bob Baker Marionette Theater. Right now, the theater is in the middle of a meaningful effort to purchase their current building in Highland Park to make it their forever home and stay in LA for generations to come. Every set sold is a step toward that curtain never coming down.
