A pair of sculptural bronze vessels from Cosanti Originals, the experimental Arizona foundry founded by architect and artist Paolo Soleri. Each piece is cast in bronze and finished with a richly mottled verdigris patina, carrying the irregular textures, markings, and geometric reliefs typical of Cosanti's handmade process.
The set pairs the architectural #121BP vessel — raised on a sculptural pedestal base — with the smaller #177BB bowl, prized for its eccentric, elongated form. Because each piece is hand-cast by Cosanti artisans, no two vessels are ever exactly alike. Surfaces shift between deep green, turquoise, oxidized copper, and warm reddish bronze, and only grow richer with age.
Functional by design, but sculptural in effect — beautiful left empty on a table or console, or filled with flowers, branches, fruit, or something gathered from the garden.
