Our Guest Curator: Gabbriette Bechtel
We first met Gabbriette through her mole — she’d used the mole from our Mexico sub box in one of her recipes, and we were hooked. That’s how we discovered the rest of her: model, musician and internet’s favorite home cook, a woman who’s built a devoted following around her kitchen, where Mexican and German flavors from her own upbringing collide with a fearless, anything-goes approach to cooking. Once the frontwoman of Charli XCX’s punk band Nasty Cherry, she’s since become known for turning cooking into something unpretentious and fun again — rolling dough, riffing on family recipes, and doing it all with total disregard for the rules.
Flamingo Estate is proud to welcome Gabbriette as our guest curator — a celebration of the kind of instinctive, joyful cooking that brings people to the table, no matter where they learned it. Her picks reflect a kitchen built on curiosity, heritage, and a willingness to break the rules.
