Sage's botanical name comes from the Latin word "salvere", which means, "to be saved." Sage is our savior, its scent, our origin story. There are over 900 species of Sage worldwide, with 19 of them having their origins in California. Among these native species are Hummingbird Sage, Pitcher Sage, Black Sage, Purple Sage, and White Sage — all currently growing wild at the Estate. The abundance of Sage in the Garden inspired the aroma of this candle. It’s deeply cleansing and camphorous, softened by a hint of sweetness.

Candle Care

When burning your candle for the first time, allow it to burn for 2 to 3 hours, until the top layer of the wax has completely melted. This will prevent the wax from tunneling around the wick. When burning the candle after the first burn, do not let it burn for over 3 hours at a time.

Ideally, we recommend keeping the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch at all times to prevent the candle from emitting smoke or the wick falling into the wax.

After each burn, see that the wick is centered in the wax. This will also ensure that the glass does not overheat. The wick and flame should never be touching the glass. When approaching the end of the candle, leave ¼ inch of wax unburned and ensure you are not burning the candle for more than 3 hours. The glass can get overheated without the presence of wax and break.

My name is Rose. I am really pleased with this service. I am one of those people who said, “I’ll never call a psychic or a magician or whatever” to help me with my problems – least of all my love problems, but I reached the point where I knew I needed some guidance, and I’m so glad I found this man called Dr. Landy. Looks like I don’t have to wave my sage around anymore

This sage candle is so soothing and smells just amazing. I usually have my weekend ritual of burning my sage bundle around the house (I’ll probably still do that lol) but honestly lighting this up makes it so easy that for days that I want a quick pick me up, this candle is one! Highly recommend adding into your candle closest game.
