How to care for your Flamingo Estate candle

Bask in the joy of slow, candlelit moments with our hand-poured, naturally fragranced candles. If you’re wondering how to make your candles last longer, we’ve curated a candle care guide that’ll help you channel hours of aromatic, transportive burn time.

STEP 1: LET IT BURN

When burning your scented candle for the first time, allow it to burn for 2 to 3 hours, until the top layer of the candle wax melts completely into liquid wax. If you’re curious as to how to fix candle tunneling, this will prevent the candle wax from tunneling around the candle wick. We recommend using a candle snuffer or dipper when putting out your candle to ensure ash or smoke does not contaminate your candle’s melted or unmelted wax.

STEP 2: TRIM AWAY THE OLD

Ideally, we recommend using a wick trimmer to keep the candle wick trimmed to 1/4 inch at all times to prevent the scented candle from emitting smoke or the wick falling into the melted wax. This will stop the wax and fragrance from getting ruined. After each burn, make sure the candle wick is centered in the wax. This will ensure that the candle glass does not overheat, as the wick and flame should never touch the candle glass.

STEP 3: NURTURE THE FLAME / SAVE YOUR SPARK / KEEP THE SPARK ALIVE

Make sure to never leave a lit candle unattended or let the candle burn for more than 4 hours at a time. A lit candle should also only be placed on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Keep the candle out of reach of children and pets.
