Alice Waters is a California culinary icon, pioneering chef, and James Beard Award winner whose influence on American food culture is impossible to overstate. Frequently cited as the “Mother of the Farm-to-Table Movement” in the U.S., she sparked a national shift toward local, organic, and seasonal ingredients with the opening of her legendary Berkeley restaurant, Chez Panisse. Named Best Chef in America by the James Beard Foundation and awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Barack Obama for her work as a chef, author, and advocate for a sustainable and equitable food system, Alice’s impact extends far beyond the kitchen. This month, she’s bringing her timeless philosophy and impeccable palate to our kitchens. Expect recipes and stories grounded in peak-season produce, simple techniques, and the joyful spirit of sharing a meal — all sourced from her favorite regenerative farms.
The Farmer’s Market and our favorite chefs come together to let you cook a meal for someone you love. This Regenerative Farm Box is a chance for us to support the best farmers in California, while delivering the most delicious, nutrient-rich, and nourishing food to our LA community. Every month, a different chef will curate our box, create recipes, and offer delicious treats from their kitchen to yours. You will also find a rotating curation of seasonal fruits, vegetables, eggs, and weekly surprises such as fresh baked breads, spices, and Flamingo Estate products.
