Petrichor is named for the smell of earth after a rain.

Once a year the storms come to Los Angeles. When the deluge finally arrives at the Estate, the earth heaves a sigh of relief: the birds sing, the winds blow, and the mighty Eucalyptus begin to turn their leaves. This phenomenon occurs before rain because of the increased humidity in the air, which softens the leaves and causes them to turn.

Eucalyptus leaves are a core ingredient in our petrichor candle. We combine their oil with Myrrh, Amber, and Vetiver to mimic the scent of the earth after rain. It is a scent that has fascinated people for as long as the rains have been falling.

Paulo Coelho wisely said that not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path. Our petrichor candle honors this idea.  We release this very limited-edition candle on January 1st each year. It’s an invitation to wash away what no longer serves you, and turn over a new leaf.

A new favorite

As the description states- this candle is that perfect additon to a room for a balmy, soft mesmerizing scent like right after a rainstorm. I have placed this in my bedroom to further help create that relaxation. Like all FE candles this does not disappoint. I love a strong scented candles and while this scent is strong and permeates the room, it is not overpowering .

Spa Experience

This candle is so soothing and I immediately felt like I was in a spa when I smelled it. It’s earthy, smoky, and calming. I bought more when they re-released! The scent doesn’t hit you in the face so much as it permeates the room and subtly changes the atmosphere.

Soothing and Calm

This candle is like a comforting hug from your favorite person. Take in a deep breath and exhale. The scent is fresh but yet somehow how a bit smokey like burning incense.
