With work housed in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Vitra Design Museum, Centre Pompidou, and The Met, Gaetano Pesce helped define a new kind of Modernism: warm, imperfect, and defiantly alive. Where others saw function, he saw feeling.
We’ve always admired his fearless use of color, his playfully rebellious spirit, and his steadfast rejection of minimalist dogma. Gaetano was born with the rare gift for blending the fringes—finding the space where chaos became beauty, narrative became form, and art lived comfortably inside the everyday.
In the earliest days of Flamingo Estate, Gaetano generously agreed to create a limited edition of resin ice buckets to celebrate the launch of our first wine, Pink Moon. When our mutual curiosities began to click, something special took root. Decanter is the first in a trilogy of precious objects designed for Flamingo Estate by Gaetano Pesce.
More than a designer, we’ve come to think of Gaetano as a true romantic. He was a radical. A gardener of ideas who believed that the things we live with every day should be as wild, as strange, and as soulful as we are.
