Especially at the Estate, where we embrace winter storms with open arms.

Petrichor is the smell of earth after rain. And the smell is deserving of such a wildly epic name — It is like a secret dance between the rain and the land. Whether it’s the smell, the damp feeling on concrete, or the leaves unfurling with the humidity — rain in Los Angeles feels like a holy thing. Mother Nature is somehow born anew. Washing away all the things that don’t serve us.

Scientists have been baffled as to why we love this smell, or even what causes it. Some thought it was rain mixing with clay; others believed it was plant oils. Only in 1966 did it come to light that bacteria produced a compound called Geosmin, which is mainly responsible for the smell.

We first formulated our famous soap brick and candle devoted to this scent after the big storms in winter 2021. To mimic the scent we mixed ingredients such as Kelp, Myrrh, Eucalyptus, Amber, Vetiver, Cedarwood, and Tulsi. The collection sold out immediately and is now our most requested fragrance.

Our candle and soap set remind us to wash away the past year. And surge forth in the sunshine.

Sensual and nuanced
I didn't know what to expect of this, but I'm so glad I got it. It's an unusual combination of scents (in the best way possible). Smells floral, but also woody and minty. Absolutely lovely. I immediately came back here to add other products to my Flamingo Estate collection.

It smells so good!
My favorite thing to do with this set is light the candle, draw a bath, and wash off with the soap. Makes me feel like I am in a luxury spa.😊

Love the soap!
I love the petrichor soap! Its super luxe, smells amazing and the texture of it gives a nice exfoliation. I was a little unimpressed with the scent of the candle, however. It's underwhelming and extremely subtle. IMO neither one really smells like Petrichor, but the soap hits the fragrance better than the candle.
