Dern Over A New Leaf
This Oil was harvested a few weeks ago in Ojai, California. It’s got a remarkable peppery punch, and vibrant grassy fragrance — a combination of the sunshine and calm weather. Perhaps the best harvest in years? This bottle is made from Nocellara del Belice Olives — incredibly high in polyphenols, which give it an amazing aftertaste.
The trees that produced this Oil are approximately 30 years old — all clones of 300-year-old trees. They’re a rare Sicilian varietal, brought to Ojai in the 1990s. The cuttings were taken from the most attractive and productive trees found in a centuries-old grove in Sicily, and brought back to California.
We decided to link arms with Laura Dern because we both share the desire to remove chemicals from the food we eat. In 2018, her mother (legendary actress and Golden Globe-winner, Diane Ladd) was diagnosed with Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, most likely from inhaling pesticides sprayed on the industrial farms that adjoin her LA neighborhood. She was told by a doctor that severe scarring on her lungs meant she had months to live. She proved them wrong, and she’s still here fighting. Laura’s joined in the fight, and so have we.
All profits of this bottle will go to the Center for Food Safety and their ongoing legal work to ban toxic pesticides in our food. So let’s Dern over a new leaf and support the people working to make our food systems safe.

Our Impact
The Center for Food Safety (CFS) is dedicated to protecting the health of people, pollinators, and the planet by confronting the toxic legacy of pesticides like glyphosate, chlorpyrifos, and dicamba. With deep commitment and a bold vision for a healthier future, CFS combines legal action, policy advocacy, and grassroots mobilization to challenge industrial agriculture’s reliance on these harmful chemicals. Their work uplifts communities most affected by pesticide exposure, empowering them with science, resources, and hope for change. Partnering with farmers, scientists, and advocates, CFS champions organic and regenerative solutions that honor the land and all who depend on it. Together, they are building a world free from toxic pesticides, where ecosystems and communities can thrive in harmony.
