Ingredients
WINTER SPICED CARA CARA ORANGE SYRUP
Cara Cara OrangesPeel from 1
Sugar1/2 cup
Water1/2 cup
Star Anise2 whole
Cardamom1 tsp whole pods
GIN & TONIC
Winter Spiced Cara Cara Orange Syrup1 - 2 oz
Gin2 oz
Tonic Water4 oz
Cara Cara Orangesfresh slices for garnish
Rosemarysprigs for garnish
Steps
  1. Winter Spiced Cara Cara Orange Syrup:
  2. Combine the ingredients in a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat. Whisk until the sugar dissolves. Bring the mixture to a simmer then turn off the heat. Let cool to room temperature - you can store this in the fridge for a week or so. I leave the orange and spices in for even more flavor infusion. It’s great to make ahead of time!
  3. Gin & Tonic
  4. Fill a glass with ice. Pour the gin and add orange syrup to taste. Stir to combine. Top with tonic. Add a fresh cara cara orange slice and a sprig of rosemary.
