We started making seasonal boxes as a way to send new things to my mother and my friends. It was a place for us to play, and have some fun, and try new ideas. We began selling them a couple of years ago because so many people had asked for them. Today, our Seasonal Subscription Box is our most requested product.

They remain a joy for us to make each season, and we really do get to play and experiment. This season I was curious about CALM, and how to find it in difficult times. We had just endured the fires in Los Angeles, and I needed to turn my racing mind off.

Here are the tools I made for calm: In it, you’ll find a Candle and Soap inspired by the scent of our bee smoker, which we fill with Lavender. A Honey made from the nectar of Avocado Flowers, and a Smoked Seasoning Salt from Big Sur Salts. You will also find a Body Wash and Lotion made from Lavender, Rosemary, and Sage. And finally, a Lavender Dream Spray, for when you need to go to sleep and dream of magical things.

A Hug From Mother Nature

These past months have been stressful for all of us. It got me thinking about how to calm my racing mind, relax my anxiety, sleep deeper, and dream bigger.

The orchard gave me some clues. When we open the Beehives to harvest Honey, the Bees get tremendously anxious. Every Beekeeper has a smoker — used to relax the Bees. We add Lavender to ours, which is the secret ingredient. Rich in Linalool, it has a mild sedative effect, soothing the Bees and keeping the calm.

This was the inspiration for our Seasonal Subscription Box. It’s a collection of tools from the garden to calm our anxious minds, keep ourselves moving, and nourish our sense of calm. We need that feeling more than ever.

What a great investment!

Loved this box! I’m planning on getting all of them this year and keeping some but using the rest for gifts. The body oil in this shipment is amazing, including the incredible eye dropper that makes it so easy to use! The soap wasn’t exactly for me — it has a really strong fennel/anise smell — but my mom will love it for just that reason. One note: instead of the smaller candle, I got substituted the salsa macha, which was a bummer at first…but I love it! It was a real win in the long run. That stuff on anything is incredible. I put it on a sweet cornbread, and it was life-changing.

The packaging was exquisite and the goodies inside even more! Deeply loving the candles and jams and hand cream. Such a treat, I can’t wait for the next box!
