Spicy Strawberry Fruit Snack

We took the lushest, ripest, first-of-the-season Strawberries from iconic family-run farm Harry’s Berries (2 pounds of fresh berries in every jar!!) and dusted them with the bright spice of California-grown Guajillo Chile from legendary, women-owned Boonville Barn Collective. We added a squeeze of Key Lime with a pinch of Himalayan Pink Salt. Then we gently dehydrated them to preserve their juiciness and concentrate all of that quintessential Strawberry flavor. The result is these small dried wonders. Insanely addictive, sweet, tart, and spicy with a delectable chew.

Every year, different weather conditions really impact each harvest. This is the first batch of Strawberries this year, filled with the heavy rains of this past Winter. This made it a slow start to the season, which has given lower yields. Due to their preciousness, we can only make about 40 jars per week. Though they sell out every time and we wish we could make more, their seasonality and time-honored process is exactly what makes them worth their weight in gold. Truly nature’s candy.
