Fresh Wasabi Mustard

We took the rarest wasabi root, freshly grated it, and combined it with yellow mustard seeds, vinegar, and spices to create this remarkably layered and complex mustard. Use it in marinades, vinaigrettes, in deviled eggs, and on sandwiches. This is the best mustard you’ve ever had.

Real wasabi (not the dyed horseradish we typically see) is one of the rarest ingredients to source. It takes two years to mature and requires very specific conditions to grow — cool but not freezing weather, shade, rocky soil, and access to highly oxygenated spring water. These requirements, combined with the slow growing rate, make the plant unable to thrive in most parts of the world. We sourced ours from the misty coasts of Northern California where Jeff Roller and Tim Hall, co-owners of Half Moon Bay Wasabi Company replicate these very unique growing conditions, supplying us with these extraordinary roots.
