This recipe is filled with ingredients that help your body to adapt to all sorts of
stressors. Good fats and adaptogens meet up with the digestive cleansing powers of chia seeds to create a pick-me-up snack that provides lasting and stable energy. The power of chia goes back to ancient Aztec civilizations and beyond and was often used as an offering to the Gods and now it is an offering to your body. Cocoa is another ancient ally that improves circulation and for some can activate energy levels. Make this treat and keep in your freezer for the moments when you need a sweet treat that nourishes your body.

  • 1⁄2 cup pitted dates
  • 1⁄2 cup almond butter
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 1⁄2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp ashwaganda
  • 1 tbsp maca powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • Place the dates into a food processor and blend until they become a paste.
  • Add the almond butter, cocoa powder, melted coconut oil, vanilla, ashwagandha, maca powder and chia seeds. Blend until well combined.
  • Place the mixture onto a piece of wax or parchment paper. Form the mixture into a 1⁄2” thick rectangle. Cover and place into the freezer for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  • Cut into 1” squares and enjoy!
  • For fun you can garnish with any treats you adore. I love bee pollen, goji berries, cocoa nibs, coconut flakes and chia seeds.
  • Enjoy!
